Our appointment schedule is fully computerized which allows our team to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. If it is after hours you can still call.... just leave us a message. We will return your call as soon as we open again. The voicemail recording also provides our hours of operation and an emergency hospital phone number. Our reception team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. We do take emergencies during business hours. However we do not have a night staff, in this case the patient will be stabilized and transferred to an accommodating emergency or 24 hour hospital. If you feel you have an animal emergency please call us or come in immediately. If possible call us before coming in so that our team and doctors can be best prepared. Also, a staff member can help you stay calm and help answer any questions about your particular emergency until you arrive.
We have a veterinarian and staff on duty 6 days a week. Monday through Friday we have a doctor on the premises form 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm. All are trained and the hospital equipped to handle any emergency your pet may have. An emergency team consists at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save your companions life. If you are not sure if it is an emergency please call and ask one of our team members. Emergencies can be things such as: snail or rodent bait poisoning, chocolate ingestion, bee sting, rattlesnake bite, not urinating or defecating, dog fight, coyote attack or being struck by a car. If you feel that your pet needs emergency treatment DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL OR COME IN IMMEDIATELY. If possible call before coming in so that our team and doctors can be best prepared.

Avocado Animal Hospital accepts payment via Cash, Discover, MasterCard, American Express or Visa. WE DO NOT EXCEPT CHECKS. Payment is always due at time of service, so that we can continue to provide you high quality service utilizing the best medical technologies. We do not take payments or carry balances. At this time we do not accept Care Credit.
Once the doctor has been able to fully asses your pet we will provide you with an estimate for any treatments, surgeries or hospitalization. We cannot give any estimates over the phone without seeing your pet his/her condition. One of our team members will answer any questions you may have on your estimate. A copy is yours to take and a signed copy will stay in the patients medical file. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges.
